Abby Chapple, was a judge in the early rounds of the Berkeley Springs Water Tasting competition, "If your water is good, then you don’t care. And so what you have to do is develop empathy and understand people who don’t have what you have – who are not as fortunate. To be in Berkeley Springs, and have our water — we’re really lucky."

Orus Ashby Berkley of Talcott, West Virginia is descended from early settlers to Monroe County, West Virginia. He's fighting the pipeline.

EMBARGOED until March 19, 2017 -- Jeffery L. Bean ( yes spelled JeffERy) will be "displaced" from work by March 17. He's worked at the Batesville Casket Company for 26 years. He and other long-time workers initial every wooden casket they make.

Saira and Faheem Khan have run the gas station in Como, Mississippi for 20 years. Faheem Khan is running for town alderman in this May's election. He's running as a Democrat. He voted for Trump.

Paige Davis, 18, a student at Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. Davis' labot assignment is broomcraft, essentially making brooms for sale by the school. All students at Berea are guaranteed a tuition-free education, but all students must work.

Buckhannon
Aimee Anderson, 23, works as bartender at the Kanawha Lounge in Buckhannon, W. Va. The television at the bar is always on Fox News and as a Bernie Sanders supporter Anderson described the election season as tense. “I could say the sky was blue but the clouds were gray,” she said, trying to explain her discussions with Donald Trump supporters. “ ‘No, they’re always white.’ They can never, ever be gray. There is no gray area in the politics of this bar. There’s none. No gray.”

Sylvester Edwards, farmer, McDowell County, West Virginia

Maury Johnson, a Monroe County, West Virginia is fighting the Mountain Valley Pipeline. The pipeline route cuts thorugh his farm, and this tree, one of Johnson's favorites, is set to be cut down to make way for a temporary access road.

Georgina Haverty is fighting to stop a gas pipeline, ( 42 inches in diameter, which nearly the size of a roll of hay). Haverty runs a farming, orchard and wedding venue on her family farm, Doe Creek Farm in Giles County, Virginia. The proposed Mountain Valley Pipeline would cut through her farm and farmyard.

Judy and Warren Ellison both in their 90s are worried about the pipeline's affect on their spring water. Their farm has been in the family for generations. At 92, Warren Ellison said he was hoped we wouldn't be around to see it.
